The Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) is a federal law that makes it illegal for employers to discriminate against workers age 40 and older because of their age. Any employer with 20 or more employees may not discriminate against older workers in hiring, firing, pay, job assignments, promotions, layoffs, training, benefits or other terms and conditions of employment.
Bernie Mazaheri has over 20 years of experience litigating, mediating and advising employees and business leaders in matters related to the rights of older workers. If you have questions or concerns about how the law applies to you or your business, contact a lawyer sooner rather than later. Age discrimination laws are complex. It's best to seek counsel from an experienced attorney.
